Stronger than the Night

Sometimes it’s difficult to find great synthwave tracks that embrace a classic and modern sound at the same time, especially in their instrumental style, but this time Omar Junkel aka Thermal Noise accomplishes precisely that, in the hauntingly and futuristic ‘Stronger than the Night’; signed to our friends from the excellent label Purzynth Records, Omar takes us through sophisticated synthetic landscapes that are perfectly suitable for settings like Cyberpunk 2077.

It needs to be noted that the whole album ‘Legends’ is worth a listen, especially if you are a fan of retro synth and cyber atmospheric melodies that remind you of a blend extracted from a TRON location since Omar makes great use of classic 80’s synth patches polished with more modern efx treatments and also playing with minimalistic and complex sounds sprinkled moderately throughout key sections on the track.

The instrument layers and mix are generally neat, and Omar knows how to print a punch in his drum and bass tracks, with the spacey synths and lots of volume envelopes that make the track pump with excitement.

Please follow Thermal Noise, one of those hidden artists that should be dragged out to the more known but specialized instrumental synthwave scene. Kudos to Purzynth Records for offering another cool artist through their roster!
